The Roles of Superyacht Crew
The crew size can range from 1 to 100 members, depending on the vessel, with four primary departments as follows:
Deck
The deck department on a superyacht comprises crew members responsible for exterior operations and maintenance, including navigation, safety and guest services. Their duties range from piloting the vessel to overseeing water sports activities and maintaining the exterior appearance of the yacht.
Engineering
The engineering department on a superyacht is responsible for maintaining and operating all mechanical and electrical systems, including propulsion, generators, and HVAC. Crew members in this department ensure the vessel’s systems run smoothly, conduct routine maintenance, and respond to any mechanical or electrical issues that arise.
Interior
